QRC Lodestar — Know if your backtest is real, before you risk a cent
Strategy validation for algorithmic traders

A flawless backtest
is a red flag.

QRC Lodestar reads your optimization results, isolates the parameter region that actually holds, and grades how far you can trust it — then simulates your odds of passing an FTMO or The5ers challenge and checks the edge survives on data it never saw. All on your machine.

The problem

Optimizers reward luck as easily as edge.

Run ten thousand passes and the best one will look spectacular — because it fit the noise, not the market. That's the strategy that sails through backtesting and quietly dies on a funded account. Lodestar exists to tell you, before you pay a challenge fee, whether the result in front of you is a real edge or an expensive illusion.

What it does

Four questions, answered before you risk money

Lodestar turns a wall of optimization passes into a clear, defensible verdict — and refuses to flatter a strategy that doesn't deserve it.

Reliability score

Clusters every optimization pass, finds the region that stays profitable across neighbouring settings, and grades it 0–100. High means robust; low means curve-fit.

Prop-firm challenge simulator

Monte-Carlos thousands of attempts under FTMO 2-Step and The5ers High Stakes rules — real targets, daily-loss and drawdown limits — and reports your probability of passing both phases.

Out-of-sample validation

Run your recommended inputs on a later period the strategy never saw. Lodestar measures how much of the edge survived — the line between a real system and an overfit one.

Compliance screener

Reads your inputs and flags martingale, grid stacking, hedging and other mechanics prop firms restrict or ban — so you don't fail on a rule you didn't know applied.

Recommended inputs

Instead of the single lucky pass, get the robust-cluster settings actually worth trading, with the stability behind them and a clean PDF report to keep.

Private by design

Everything runs locally. Your strategies and results never leave your computer — no uploads, no account, no internet required. Ever.

How it works

From a wall of numbers to a decision — in four steps

Analyze

Drop in your optimization export — CSV, XLSX, XML or HTML. Lodestar maps the columns automatically across every major platform.

Evaluate

It clusters the passes, isolates the robust region, and scores reliability with a transparent, line-by-line breakdown.

Discover

See your prop-firm pass odds, out-of-sample result, compliance flags, and the parameter set worth trading.

Decide

Export a clean PDF report and move forward knowing exactly what the numbers are really worth.

Questions traders ask first

What do I upload?

Your strategy's optimization results, exported from your platform — the file with one row per parameter combination. Lodestar reads the columns for you.

Does it need internet?

No. Lodestar runs entirely on your computer. Your strategies and results never leave the machine — there's no account and nothing to upload.

Which platforms are supported?

MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader, NinjaTrader, TradingView, and Python backtests (backtrader, vectorbt, QuantConnect). CSV, XLSX, XML and HTML exports.

What do I need to run it?

A Windows 10 or 11 PC. Download the installer, run it, and Lodestar installs like any other desktop app — no extra software required.

What is the reliability score?

A 0–100 measure of how robust your edge is across neighbouring parameter settings, not just the single best pass — the difference between a real system and a curve-fit one.

Which prop firms does the simulator cover?

FTMO 2-Step and The5ers High Stakes, with each firm's real profit targets, daily-loss limits and drawdown rules built in.

Stop trusting the prettiest curve.

Run your own strategy through Lodestar and see what the numbers are really worth. The demo is free — three full valuations, no account needed.
